On the way to the King Street Brewhouse for my husband I was just having a look around at what desserts were at these wonderful restaurants as we walked by the one at Nick's Bar & Grill caught my eye.
It was a Baileys Creme Brulee. Baileys is my favourite drink and to have that mixed in with Creme Brulee is heavenly.
Served with a chocolate biscotti and some strawberry compote the Creme Brulee was sweet yet not too sweet with a beautiful custard taste that balanced with the hint of Baileys, I think the chef may have put less sugar in this one due to the compote being sweet enough. I liked it with less sugar to be honest because the Baileys hint made up for the less sugar. I decided against having the compote with it because I believe when trying a Creme Brulee I should not be mixing my tastes with other things that may take away from the flavour of this wonderful dessert.
The custard was perfect and the hint of Baileys made this Creme Brulee definately worth the trip to check it out if you are a fan of their Creme Brulees or Baileys. I would most definitely come back to have this Creme Brulee again. We dined here in January 2012.
