Alcatraz Brewing Company, Anaheim, California, USA

Of course, the shopping mall builders were very smart to include a pub for the husbands while the wives went off to shop, my husband couldn't wait to park the car this day, it was Happy Hour at Alcatraz - which meant it was Happy Hour all day, $3 pints.

I went off shopping and came back to find him watching the Superbowl playoffs and enjoying himself, I sat down with my loads of bags (it is SO cheap here!!) and decided it was time for some dinner.. I take a peak at the menu and find they offered Creme Brulee! In a Pub! Glorious!

This was another classic Vanilla Creme Brulee - I found it interesting that most American restaurants just stuck to the original flavour, not seeming to venture very far. I was impressed with the presentation of this dessert considering the clientele and the fact it was a pub! Amazing standards in this place. This classic Creme Brulee tasted much better than anything I had in Vegas, this one was a little too much on the sweet side but not enough to make me shy away from it, the texture was solid and the best part was the sugar on top was not burnt enough that it took away from the taste. We dined here in January 2012.

ARIA Resort In-Room Service, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA

Flicking through the in room menu for no reason (I think we might have been looking for wine..) I came across the Madagascan Vanilla Bean on offer from here. I couldn't help myself, I ordered it and it looked so amazing

It was much nicer than the one I had at The Meat & Wine Co in Sydney and I had definitely started to enjoy what ARIA was offering in terms of the standards of food compared to other restaurants around Vegas.

This was a fairly low sugar Creme Brulee which would be offset by the chocolate hidden in the bottom of it (lovely surprise) and the berries on the top. The custard tasted fresh and not very processed like some of the others, I honestly thought they were powdered egg but I enjoyed this one very much, again I didn't have the berries, I had them after I ate the Creme Brulee. This was our only night in the ARIA, we were here in January 2012.

Jean Philippe Patisserie, ARIA Resort Las Vegas, Nevada, USA

We checked out of Paris Las Vegas and spent our last night in luxury at the ARIA, which was pretty much across the road.

This place was amazing, it was a very modern hotel with modern amentities, such as opening your door with a electronic sensor which would then open up your blinds automatically and turn on the lights and the tv and music... it was something out of a movie!

So while I was looking around I find a cute little Patisserie downstairs and what did ya know, it sold Creme Brulee!

So I bought one to enjoy back at the room, It was quite nice but one of the downers of being in a really flashy hotel is they stock the hell out of the minibar and I wasn't able to put this little beauty in the fridge and I had to go out before I was able to eat it. It had a caramel kind of syrup on the top of it with vanilla bean custard, I bought it while we were here in January 2012.

Le Village Buffet, Paris Las Vegas, Nevada, USA

While in Vegas they were having a special where for $45 you could get 24 hours of buffet food. My husband and I were running out of money at this stage (hmmm, maybe I shouldn't have bought that necklace at Tiffany & Co...) so we decided this would be a good way to have 3 meals for only $45.

Once you bought the card the timer started counting down and you had several casinos to choose from not just Paris but since we were already there when we bought it, we made this our first stop, the Le Village Buffet.

This Buffet is massive.. I can't even describe to you how big it is, my plate was full before I even got 1/8th of the way around it.

I went to the dessert station and couldn't believe my eyes...

Mini Vanilla Creme Brulees everywhere! What was so funny about this was they tasted FANTASTIC! Seriously who would have thought these little gems in a buffet would be better than all I have so far tasted in America.. the mind boggles!

They were quite small, about 4-5 dips with a teaspoon and you'd have finished them, this one pictured above had a tiny amount of the burnt sugar on it - but some of the others had more. I was able to eat about 4 of these little precious gems! They had a fair bit of sugar in them but not overpowering to the point it made them sickly, it pretty much redeemed the horrible Creme Brulees I had earlier with the disgusting egg taste, but this tasted fresh!

We dined here in January 2012.

Eiffel Tower Restaurant, Paris Las Vegas, Nevada, USA

This is a beautiful restaurant, we decided to come here for my husband's birthday as a special occasion. Of course, they also had Creme Brulee!

Out of most of the Creme Brulees I have had, this one definitely gets 10/10 for presentation.

This restaurant is located in the Paris Las Vegas Eiffel tower replica and you can view the Bellagio water feature during your dinner.

I took the berries off this Creme Brulee to try it without the berries altering the flavour of the Creme Brulee, while its presentation was magnificent the flavour was about a 7/10 - I had nicer Vanilla Creme Brulees. I think the eggs in this region were not completely fresh and/or possibly cage eggs not fresh range.

We dined here in January 2012.

TREVI, Caesar's Palace, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA

Las Vegas is amazing, a very very interesting city that mimics some real life monuments. We found ourselves walking through Caesar's Palace (again with the cobblestones and forever dusk theme) and decided to stop for lunch, I was surprised to find TREVI in the middle of this selling Creme Brulees. This was an Italian restaurant not French.

It was just a standard run of the mill Vanilla Creme Brulee, it tasted similar to the one at Cafe Ile St Louis but wasn't as bad - it had some flavour to it and wasn't quite as off tasting. Possibly the produce in the desert is not the best!

Cafe Ile St Louis, Paris Las Vegas, Nevada, USA

We arrived in America and drove to Las Vegas (5 hour drive!) and we arrived just after dinner time, we dropped our bags off into our room and decided to look around the place for some dinner and then go to bed and crash!

Paris, Las Vegas is full of lots of little sandwich and pastry shops but we found Cafe Ile St Louis overlooking the casino floor. The Paris, Las Vegas has built the inside to look like the streets of Paris, the walkways are cobblestones, the roof is painted forever dusk.

I didn't take this photo but it gives you an idea of what it looks like.

We stopped by this little French Restaurant (yes because they served Creme Brulee) - and I forgot to take a photo of the Creme Brulee before I started eating it.

This Creme Brulee was terrible, it tasted like the eggs were powder and yuck! I would definitely NOT go back to this one. It just tasted wrong, I'm not sure if it was too many days old or what but the eggs just did not taste right - it tasted like it was powdered egg or something,. Disappointing considering I was in a French themed Casino/Hotel, this was a Vanilla flavoured Creme Brulee. We dined here in January 2012.
